Dr. Pejman Aflaki completed his training at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery program. Under the tutelage of leaders in plastic surgery, Dr. Aflaki gained extensive experience and skills in a broad spectrum of aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery procedures of the face, breast, and body. He is board-certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery.
Dr. Aflaki's specialized training and interests include breast reconstruction post breast cancer, using both implants and autologous tissues, including microsurgical techniques like deep inferior epigastric perforators (DIEP) reconstruction. He advocates for a multidisciplinary approach to caring for cancer patients and works closely with other physicians and healthcare professionals to optimize the results.
Dr. Aflaki has expertise in both reconstructive and cosmetic facial procedures. His services include facelifts, neck lifts, rhinoplasty, and various noninvasive techniques, such as BOTOX® and fillers. In addition, he specializes in the "mommy makeover" range of procedures designed to revitalize the breasts and body following childbirth, including breast lift, breast reduction or augmentation, tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), and liposuction.
Dr. Aflaki's core belief is that the primary role of a plastic surgeon is to listen to each patient's concerns attentively to construct individualized, multidimensional plans designed to help achieve their specific goals. He is a devoted clinician who strives toward perfection in every procedure, offering his patients the same level of care they would receive from close personal friends.
Dr. Aflaki is dedicated to advancing his knowledge and expertise in plastic surgery. He actively engages in teaching and keeps himself up-to-date with the latest medical literature through his participation in academic journal clubs and attending national plastic surgery meetings.
When not treating patients, Dr. Aflaki pursues physical fitness and is an avid marathon runner. He is a family man and lives with his wife and two children in the suburbs of Washington, D.C.
Dr. Aflaki completed two years of research in the Laboratory of Tissue Repair and Gene Transfer at Brigham and Women's Hospital, a prominent teaching hospital affiliated with Harvard Medical School. He then completed an internship at Brigham and Women's Hospital, followed by an extensive general surgery residency at Mount Sinai Morningside, formerly Mount Sinai St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center, in New York City. He further refined his expertise through a specialized plastic surgery fellowship at the renowned Johns Hopkins Hospital before joining the Plastic Surgery Services of Fredericksburg.
Dr. Aflaki has made significant contributions to the field of plastic surgery. He has published papers in medical literature and presented his research at local and national meetings, including Plastic Surgery Research Council (PSRC) and American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery. His dedication to research and expertise has earned him numerous awards, such as the Joseph E. Murray M.D. resident research award from the New England Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (NESPRS) in 2008 and first prize in the Art and Science category in 2009 from the Plastic Surgery Education Foundation (PSEF) scientific essay contest.

Dr. Aflaki was my surgeon for my upper eyelid surgery and I can't say enough good things about the doctor and the staff (and my results!). Everyone was friendly and professional and all my questions were answered and my concerns addressed.
